We had some scheduling conflicts so we had to have the Smith family Christmas today. I am especially excited about telling your Grandma Smith because she has been hounding me since before we got married. This will be an enormous load off my back. Angie will be excited too cause she won't possess the only grandchild and have Mom over to see Joey non-stop. They weren't as excited as I thought they would be though. At least, I was expecting a bigger reaction. I think Mom kind of suspected though. Now lets just hope she doesn't go on a garage sale spree for clothes for you. I don't like the idea of you wearing used clothes. Call me protective. I also think she's dissappointed because we told her we weren't going to find out if you are a boy or a girl. I don't want all blue stuff or pink. What if the ultrasound is wrong? I've seen it happen. Daddy and I are going to peek though. We're just going to keep it a secret.

Your first Christmas! sort of. I hung a little baby ornament on the tree to see if anyone would notice. My Dad & Denise came over and I did the card thing with them too. When my Dad opened the envelope and saw "Hi Grandpa" on it. Denise immediately started laughing and smiling. My Dad just sat and stared at it like he didn't understand. He sat like that for about 5 minutes before it finally dawned on him what I was trying to say. Then he was excited. Denise thought it was very cool.

Allison came home from Florida today and I was so excited to tell her about you, I barely waited until she was inside the door. I had gotten her a Christmas card that said for my Aunt on it and I put a litle copy of your ultrasound picture in it. Your Dad had scanned the picture and added a little Santa hat to your head (or butt). Anyway Allison was very excited and rubbed my tummy. She is going to try to come home to see you be born. Hopefully, we can time it right.

Later on we went to my Grandma & Grandpa Mile's house. I had made the same card for them, except I had to write in "Great" next to Grandma & Grandpa cause I couldn't find any cards that already said it. I made them stand together when they opened it and they missed the part where I wrote in "Great" and read all the way to the end of the card. I have never seen my Grandpa so excited, but he is always more subdued. It was wonderful. Definitely, my best telling experience yet.

Here is the ultrasound with Santa hat included!

Today was my first appointment with Dr. Turke, and I got to see you!! How happy. There is something in there. A jellybean with a heartbeat!! Daddy got a little teary eyed, but I was all smiles. Now I have your frist picture. Dr. Turke couldn't tell us which end was head or butt, but that didn't really matter, because you had a heartbeat and were the exact right size.

Here is the ultrasound picture. The small roud thing next to you is the yolk sac. I'm told it is rare to get such a good picture of it.

I've been having nightmares. The one that sticks in my mind is where I go to my appointment with Dr. Turke and he does the ultrasound and says, "Stephanie, there's no baby in here, you're not pregnant." I've been so tempted to take another pregnancy test just to make sure that other line didn't somehow dissappear. I can't wait until I can feel you move, that way I know you're okay.
